We were back from Mexico and had about a month of our summer break left to hang out as a family. Gotta love being a teacher! Here I am lounging around in bed (ah, the days of actually having time to lounge!) and Mckenna was keeping me entertained with her dress up antics. :)
Matt, Mckenna and I drove over to Minnehaha's lower school campus to pick up his P.E. equipment from the sports camp that he led in early June. Anyone that knows Matt knows that he really likes basketball... I guess he's hoping that Mckenna will like it too! Yes, she is hanging there by herself (holding on for dear life), but Matt is standing right next to her.
Next was a trip to Home Depot, which Mckenna lovingly refers to as just "Depot." We ended up going there a lot this summer. Between having a new room put in to the existing space in our upstairs and Matt's dad helping us around the house with some projects (THANK YOU, CRAIG!), we made several trips and Mckenna loved it. As you can see here, while we were looking for what we needed, she kept herself busy!
These final three pictures were taken while playing across the street at Carter's house. Nothing like stripping down to a diaper and running through the sprinkler on a hot day! Carter's dad Tim was squirting the kids with the hose as they would poke their heads out of the windows of the castle, and they would squeal with delight. It was fun to watch!
Carter turned the big TWO in July, and so Mckenna had to bring over the gift she picked out for him - a Thomas the Train toy. Carter loves Thomas, so it was a big hit.
Cutie! It will be fun to watch Carter and Mckenna grow up together, they have a good time playing. :)
